The Basics
Long Island Siding Co. is a New York limited liability company based at 142 Old Country Road, Hicksville NY 11801. These terms apply to:
- The website at longislandsiding.co and any subdomains
- The estimate calculator on the site
- The siding visualizer on the site
- Any article, guide, or resource we publish on the site
These terms do not apply to the contract for actual siding work. When we do a job on your house, you sign a separate written agreement that spells out the scope, price, timeline, warranty, and everything else. If there is ever a conflict between these terms and that signed job contract, the signed job contract wins.
By using this site or the tools on it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. You can still call us at (516) 555-0100 and talk to a human without agreeing to anything.
What the Estimate Tool Is and Is Not
The estimate calculator is:
- A ballpark price range based on historical data from our completed jobs
- Accurate within about 15% for most typical Long Island homes
- Free to use with no sign-up required
- A starting point for a conversation, not a final price
The estimate calculator is not:
- A binding quote or offer
- A legally enforceable price
- A substitute for a walk-through where we see your actual house
- Final pricing (we may find things during tear-off that change the number)
- A promise that we will do the job at the estimated price
The estimate is a calculation, not a contract. We cannot be bound to install siding at a price generated by a web tool before we have seen your house. To get a real written price we will honor, schedule a walk-through and we will give you a firm written quote within 48 hours.
By using the estimator, you agree that the number it returns is for informational purposes only and that you will not rely on it as a final or binding price.
What the Visualizer Is and Is Not
The visualizer is:
- An AI-generated rendering of what your house might look like with different siding materials and colors
- A tool to help you narrow down choices
- Based on real manufacturer color data
- Fast, free, and no sign-up required
The visualizer is not:
- A photograph of the finished job
- An exact representation of every detail (trim profiles, corner details, specific shadow lines, texture depth)
- A commitment to a specific color match (colors on screens vary, real samples in daylight are different)
- A guarantee that the final installed siding will look identical to the rendering
- A substitute for physical samples we bring to the walk-through
The visualizer uses an AI image model (Fal nano-banana edit) to apply material and color to your uploaded photo. AI models make approximations. The model can and will occasionally produce imperfect results, especially on unusual architecture, complex shadows, or low-quality photos.
By using the visualizer you agree that the rendered image is an approximation for planning purposes only and that you will not rely on it as a color match, a design commitment, or a contract.
What You Upload Stays Yours
When you upload a photo to the visualizer, you keep full ownership of that photo. You grant us a short-term license to process the photo through the AI rendering pipeline and return the result to you. That license lasts for 24 hours and then ends automatically when we delete the photo and the render.
You promise that:
- You have the right to upload the photo (you took it, or you own the property, or the property owner gave you permission)
- The photo does not contain recognizable third-party private information
- The photo does not violate anyone's privacy, copyright, or other rights
Do not upload anything that is not a photo of a house. We reserve the right to refuse or delete any upload that looks like it is not a legitimate residential exterior photo, including but not limited to offensive content, people's faces without consent, or copyrighted imagery you do not have rights to.
Resource Articles, Photos, and Site Content
All written content, photos, graphics, logos, and designs on the site are owned by Long Island Siding Co. or our licensors. You can:
- Read any article for free
- Share a link to any page
- Quote a short passage (up to 200 words) with a link and attribution
- Print a page for personal use
You cannot:
- Copy entire articles to your own site or blog
- Use our photos in your marketing materials
- Train AI models on our content
- Scrape the site at scale
- Use our name or logo to imply endorsement
If you want to use something from the site for any purpose not listed above, email us and ask. We usually say yes to honest requests for editorial, educational, or journalistic use. We usually say no to competitors who want to clone our content.
We Try Hard, But Please Verify
We work to keep the information on the site accurate and up to date. That said, things change. Permit fees go up. Manufacturers change their color lines. Codes get updated. Prices shift with material markets.
The resource articles reflect our best understanding as of the "last updated" date on each article. Before you rely on any specific number (like a permit fee or a material price), verify it with the source (the town clerk, the manufacturer, a current estimate). We are not liable if a specific number on the site is out of date at the moment you read it.
Links to Other Sites
We link to manufacturer sites, town permit portals, industry associations, and occasionally news or educational sites. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the linked site. Use third-party sites at your own risk.
Website Disclaimer
The website and the tools on it are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the site will be available 100% of the time, that every feature will work perfectly on every device, or that the estimate calculator and visualizer will always return a result. If the site is down, call us at (516) 555-0100 and we will help you the old-fashioned way.
We disclaim all implied warranties to the extent allowed by law, including fitness for a particular purpose and merchantability, as they apply to the website and the tools on it. Nothing in this disclaimer affects the written warranty on any siding work we actually do for you under a separate contract.
Our Liability for the Website
To the extent allowed by New York law, our maximum liability for anything related to your use of the website or the tools on it is limited to $100. If you actually hire us for siding work and we do a bad job, our liability for that job is governed by the separate job contract and by applicable New York consumer protection and contractor warranty law, not by this web terms page.
New York Law
These terms are governed by New York law. Any dispute about the website or the tools on it will be resolved in the state courts sitting in Nassau County, New York, or in the federal courts for the Eastern District of New York.
If you have a dispute about actual siding work we did on your house, that is covered by the signed job contract and by New York consumer protection law. In practice, we resolve almost all job disputes directly with the customer by coming back and fixing whatever is wrong. Call Mike first before calling a lawyer. We stand behind our work.
Updates
If we change these terms, we will update the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the homepage for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
